I was not able to access data in MySQL database from Report Builder via ODBC. I was able to connect from excel, but not from Report Builder. I installed MySQL Connector for 64 bit OS and made a lot of attempts to connect, created machine Data source in ODBC control panel and it seemed to work fine. However, when I tried to embed this connection into a report, I ended up with error “Can not run ODBC driver” or I was not able to select it even I saw the connection in a list.
After a while, I tried to create new connection directly from a report builder and found out, that I can’t see any of MySQL drivers in the list of available ODBC drivers. However when I opened ODBC manager 64 bit I saw them. So I decided to install MySQL Connector/ODBC 8.0.32 for 32 bit OS and it made the magic. So the report builder didn’t see 64 ODBC drivers! After installing 32 bit driver I could connec to MySQL remote database without any problems.
